Dear Families,
My dad makes the best chorizo and potatoes! He dices each potato flawlessly. He has perfected the chorizo to potato ratio. Then, to complete the masterpiece, he folds it into a delicious, fluffy, warm flour tortilla. Every time he makes it it’s perfect. Is my favorite breakfast delicacy.
The best part about my dad making this breakfast was when my family would gather around the table and share the meal together. My mom served us then my dad opened up his Bible and read a devotion to us.
Looking back, I see the importance of my parents raising my sisters and me up in the Lord. I am reminded of the verse in Proverbs 22:6, “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” My parents took that to heart and I am grateful for the memories of stuffing our faces and my parents feeding our souls with the Word of God.
This weekend Sonrise Christian School will host our annual Pancake Breakfast and Pumpkin Patch! We will not be serving chorizo potatoes but we will be serving delicious pancakes, sausage, eggs, and strawberries! This is a perfect opportunity to come together as a family and spend some quality time together.
