PRESCHOOL

Over forty years ago a small group of parents met together to share a vision for providing a quality Christian education. Now, Sonrise has thousands of incredible alumni success stories… and it all begins with Preschool! We believe that children are a gift from the Lord (Psalm 127:3). We strive to encourage children to explore God’s world, to be curious, to problem solve, and to learn through a variety of activities and experiences. Our staff of caring teachers encourages children to reach their fullest potential: physically, emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually through an appropriate truth-centered curriculum. Ultimately, we strive to teach our children to live in the light of our Lord, Jesus Christ, and we strive to foster an environment where our children learn to love, share and accept one another.

QUALITY CHILD CARE

Sonrise Christian Preschool exists to serve families as a ministry and outreach of our Lord, Jesus Christ. The preschool will maintain a Christ-centered academic education, connecting students to God and establishing values for Christian growth. The preschool is licensed by California’s Department of Health and Social Services. Sonrise Christian Preschool is a non-profit organization. We have three locations - two in Covina and one in Glendora.

Sonrise Christian Preschool provides quality child care by implementing an enriching curriculum that is carefully planned to meet the needs of young children. The curriculum enhances educational and social experiences that are appropriate to the child’s age and stage of development.

Sonrise Christian Preschool provides an environment that is safe and conducive to positive experiences. Children, ages two to five years old, assemble and play together while being guided toward a happy and wholesome preschool experience. An exciting learning environment is created to assist children in their skill development. All children enjoy a time of indoor and outdoor play on equipment suitable to age. They will engage in games, creative arts and crafts, science, Bible time, nature observation, rhythm and music, sharing experiences, storytime, and much more. Children are surrounded by a Christian atmosphere of respect and loving appreciation for each individual. They are encouraged to progress at their own rate.

SERVING CHILDREN 2-5 YEARS OLD

Our Main Campus serves students ages 3-5 years old, our Covina (Cypress) Campus serves students 2-5 years old, and our Glendora Campus serves students ages 2-5 years old. Both campuses regularly review curricula to maintain the best possible standard of excellence. The current curriculum includes Zoophonics for language arts, Houghton Mifflin for math, and the ACSI Bible Curriculum.
