Dear Sonrise Families,

Wow. We’re here, just three weeks away from the end of another school year. How does each year seem to go faster than the last? The next three weeks are sure to fly by and soon we will be welcoming summer break with open arms.

It can be hard, for students, teachers, and parents, too, to stay focused when beach days and pool parties are so close, but I want to encourage you to keep pressing on; to help your children finish this year strong. Reading logs and book reports, packing lunches and washing uniforms, we will soon get to take a break from these responsibilities, but not yet.

An academic school year is 9 months, 36 weeks, 180 days. It’s natural to feel tired or worn out as we near the end. It may be tempting to ease up a bit, let your foot off the gas and try to coast to the end of the year, but let’s finish this school year with the same strength, energy, and excitement with which we started it. You may feel weak, but God is strong. He has carried us throughout this school year and He will continue to carry us to the end of it. Ephesians 6:10 says, “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might.” Apart from God, we can do nothing, but with God, we can do all things. Continue to prioritize your spiritual life; spend time in the Word and in communication with God through prayer. These are ways we can renew our hearts and minds and find the strength we need to finish well.

Have a blessed week,

Jessica Holmes
