REST

Hi families,

As we move have a moment to reset during this much-needed 3-day weekend, the thing I can’t stop thinking about is rest. In our incessantly busy world, the value of rest often gets overshadowed by the need for productivity. Yet, as I reflect on the subject, it becomes increasingly apparent that rest is not just a luxury but an essential component of a healthy, fulfilling life.

Rest isn’t just the absence of activity; it’s a deliberate act of rejuvenation, a sanctuary for the mind, body, and soul to replenish and recharge. Without it, we risk burnout, diminished creativity, and compromised physical health.

I also can’t help but think about the fact that Scripture reminds us of Christ’s example of rest, as he retreated to quiet places for prayer and rejuvenation amidst the demands of his earthly ministry. In Matthew 11:28-30, Jesus extends a comforting invitation to all who are weary and burdened, promising rest for their souls in him.

Rest in Christ transcends physical relaxation; it encompasses a profound sense of peace, assurance, and spiritual renewal. It is in surrendering our cares and concerns to him that we find true rest, trusting in his unfailing love and sovereignty over our lives.

He wants us to rely on him no matter what. He wants us to know that no matter what problems we go through in life, we can take a rest in His perfect peace.

Love, Mr. Sedam
