Whether you are with family or friends, the Super Bowl is always an exciting time. I grew up in a sport-immersed family so the Super Bowl was practically an eventful day regardless if our team was playing or not. The excitement from who is going to perform at half time to what commercials are going to be aired and of course, who is going to win that desired title of Super Bowl LVIII Champion?
My dad had my brother and I in sports our entire childhood which led us to have a love for the art of sports. Now as a mother, I find myself having a sports mentality when it comes to life. The fight between good and bad. The constant attack that the enemy has not just on me but on my boys. Am I skilled enough to win this? Am I training hard enough? Most importantly, am I listening to my Coach and being the team player He needs me to be?
Anyone who enjoys sports knows that the key to having a successful team isn't the talent in the players but the guidance of a skilled coach. The Lakers aren't the Lakers without Phil Jackson just as USC Football isn't USC Football without Coach Carroll. We are not who we need to be without the ultimate coach, God. But for us to win our life "Super Bowl", we must trust the game plan our coach has set for us.
Just as any sports coach has a game plan or strategy to lead their team to victory, our coach has the ultimate game plan for our victory. "In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory." -Ephesians 1:11-12. As we continue with the days ahead of us, let us not forget that we represent the most prestigious team of all time. Team Yahweh!
I pray that you all have a victory-filled week ahead.
With Love,
Ms. Val
