sacrifice

Dear Parents,

I am just so encouraged to see how much you sacrifice for your children. I see how quickly those parent-teacher conference time slots fill up. I see you picking up your child with a smile on your face and asking how their day was. I see you volunteering, chaperoning, and fundraising. I hear of how you pray for us often.

But I only see so much. I’m sure there is much more that you painstakingly do for the good of your children. But God, our Heavenly Father, sees them all. Furthermore, the way I see you pouring everything you have out for your children just reminds me of how God, our Heavenly Father, has given His only Son for us, as the propitiation for our sins.

When it already bewilders me how much I see you doing, my eyes open even wider as I stand in awe thinking: “Now how much more has He done for us? And how much more is He doing that I just can’t see?”

Thank you for your hard work, and thank you for refreshing my spirit.

“He who did not spare His own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?” -Romans 8:32
