Crossroads

Dear Sonrise Family,

As I prayed for God's guidance on what I wanted to say to you, the same thought kept coming up: “Trust in the Lord.” So, this year’s Bible verse has fit like a glove, “You are the lamp to my feet and the light to my path.” Psalm 119:105. We live each day making choices, and we live life thinking we are in control of every decision we make, but we really are NOT!

Two years ago, my journey at Sonrise began. It started off as a quick meeting with Mr. Patel to talk about kindergarten for my oldest daughter. I was so nervous because I really felt the calling for her to attend this school, and at the same time, I had been praying about homeschooling. I was at a crossroads, and I was not sure what to do. Little did I know that I had nothing to stress over; God was already working on something. Our meeting shortly turned into a conversation about my previous education and employment. All of which led Mr. Patel to ask me, “Are you interested in working?” God had heard my prayers, and, in His time, He placed all the puzzle pieces together to bring me to where I am now. I have been blessed with the opportunity to serve teachers and students as the school Librarian. Trusting in Him has led me to find my home away from home, my village.

So, I encourage you that next time you feel troubled about something, let go and let God guide your way. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths” Proverbs 3:5-6.

Blessings,

Angelica Lara - Librarian
