Dear Families,
Upon a wall in our staff lounge are the words of the late Dr. Burlingame that read, “There is no more important job in the world than our mission at Sonrise.” These words echo in my heart as I enter the mission field of my classroom each day. As I think about the children God has entrusted me with over the years, I realize I have one opportunity to make a lasting impression of Jesus on their tender hearts before they move on to kindergarten. Using every teachable moment to share the love of Jesus is what makes teaching at Sonrise special. Although equipping students academically is very important, there is nothing more important than teaching them to stand on biblical truth. This is why we develop students to become voices for the kingdom of God. This year has gone by quickly. In a few weeks, I will say goodbye to another group of TK students as they head to kindergarten. While I have loved each moment with my students, my heart rejoices to know that they have grown academically, but more importantly, spiritually. There is indeed no better job in the world than here at Sonrise!
