Dear Sonrise Families,
Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year! To be honest, I've been looking forward to the first day of school since about 2 weeks after school ended. I love the invitation God has given me to work at Sonrise. It is a genuine honor to care for all of our Sonrise families, most especially the students. Nothing fills my heart like serving here.
This year's Bible verse is found in 2 Timothy 4:7.
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
I am sure you will agree that life, especially here in California, is not easy. We are constantly pushing through obstacles just to get to the next one. Through it all, we must keep fighting towards the finish and keep our faith. We can't ever give up and must trust that God's faithfulness and grace will always be sufficient no matter what we come against. I look forward to seeing all the kids, and you, in this year's shirt. We are excited about this school year. God has helped us improve so much of the campus and our ability to create the incredible educational environment you've come to expect. Here is a list of some of the good work God has done:
2 new school vans for school athletics and other needs
New sports court for junior high and high school athletic programs
8 more Interactive Boards for classrooms (every teacher has one now)
Repaired elementary playground surface
Improved auditorium with new stage lighting and paint (done at end of last year but part of the overall improvement plan)
New classroom bell system/displays that help keep teachers and students up to date on schedules, notifications and emergency alerts.
