Have you ever been sitting in church during worship and suddenly the Holy Spirit just hits you, and next thing you know, BAM!! You’re crying like a baby? That was me on Sunday when we sang, “Goodness of God”. ( I know, I know, I always cry… But this was different.
Growing up in church, I’ve seen God’s faithful hand all over my life. His goodness, His mercy… sometimes it’s just overwhelming. And every now and then, a song comes on that reminds me of just how present He’s been through it all. It takes me right back, and I just lose it…the best way.
It made me think of Psalm 23:6: “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”
That verse hits different when you’ve lived through some things and can look back and see how His goodness really has followed you.
It doesn’t matter if you grew up in church, just started going, or have never stepped foot in one; God has a plan for your life. He’s good, He’s faithful, and He loves you so much.
If you get a moment, look up this song and sing it somewhere quiet. Let the words wash over you. Pray, and ask God to show you the goodness and mercy He’s poured into your life. Trust me, you’ll be amazed… and you might find yourself crying those same tears of joy too.
