Dear Sonrise Families,
As I reflect on my time at Sonrise Christian School, my heart is filled with deep gratitude and I’m feeling so blessed. It has truly been one of the greatest blessings of my life to be a part of this incredible school/ministry. I started here at Sonrise 40 years ago having had the honor of being a parent here first and for the last 34 years, I’ve been blessed to work at Sonrise. I am blessed to have had my three sons attend Sonrise and for the last eleven years having my grandchildren attend Sonrise too. Each chapter of this journey has been rich with purpose, love, and God's unwavering faithfulness.
To our parents: thank you for all the ways you have blessed me. You have been so thoughtful and generous over the years, but especially now with all your kind words of love and encouragement and thoughtful gifts. To our students: thank you for your joy, your energy, and your hugs. You are the reason we do what we do, and watching you grow—both academically and spiritually—has been one of the greatest joys of my life. I will miss you all tremendously!
Sonrise has never been just a school to me; it has been a family. A place where Christ is at the center, and where His presence is felt in the classrooms, the playgrounds, and the hearts of every teacher, student, and parent. I am truly blessed to be a part of such an amazing place.
As I look back and ahead, I am reminded of Jeremiah 29:11, which says, "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." I was so blessed all those years ago when Dr. Burlingame asked me to work at Sonrise, it was God’s plan for my life back then. And now, I look forward to the exciting future and plans the Lord has in store for me.
Thank you again for allowing me to be a part of your lives and the love you’ve shown to me throughout my years with you at Sonrise. Sonrise will always be a blessing to my life and it will forever be in my heart!
