Prayer

With the National Day of Prayer just behind us, I’ve been reflecting on the power and necessity of prayer in our lives. In a world filled with uncertainty and noise, prayer draws us back to the heart of God reminding us that He is our source of peace, strength, and hope. This past Thursday, I had the opportunity to gather with some of our students at school to pray. It was a quiet but meaningful moment, standing together and lifting our hearts to God. There was something deeply encouraging about seeing students take a moment out of their day to pause and seek the Lord. It reminded me that prayer isn’t reserved for church or for special occasions; it belongs in our everyday spaces, even the classroom. James 5:16 says,

"The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective."

That truth felt very real as we prayed side by side, trusting that God hears and responds. The National Day of Prayer is a beautiful reminder, but it’s also a challenge to carry that spirit beyond just one day. It stirred in me a desire to be more intentional in my own prayer life, especially in the work I do each day with students. This week, let’s keep that spirit alive. Let’s be people who pray consistently, who seek God faithfully, and who trust Him deeply not just on one day, but every day.
