Dear Sonrise Families,

Happy February! I don’t know about you, but January felt like a year in itself. We had quite the start to our new year, and in many ways, January was a heavy month filled with trials and challenges. It looked quite different from the joyful start to the new year that I had anticipated in my heart. From the raging fires to last week’s heartbreaking plane crash, I found myself longing for God’s faithfulness and goodness in a world filled with so much brokenness. It is in times like these that I feel the Father’s ever so gentle push to spend more time grounding myself in His Word and His presence. When it seems there is no goodness to be found, His Word reminds us that He is forever faithful, even in the midst of the trials and tribulations we inevitably face on this side of eternity.

I was reminded of this truth in 2 Thessalonians 3:2-3, which reads: "Pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil people, for not everyone has faith. But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one."

These verses reminded me that our hope is not tethered to a broken world. As people of faith, we can stand on the promise that our God is faithful in all circumstances. I pray that throughout the rest of 2025, you may continually surrender your life to Jesus and remember that His joy often comes to us in ways we never expected. His plans will always exceed every single one of our expectations.
