Dear Sonrise Families,
Are you feeling overwhelmed? Tired? Brokenhearted? Perhaps you are juggling too many things and are only one misstep away from everything falling?
If you are feeling any of these things, you are not alone. We have a firm promise that our Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. These are not mere words or empty promises, but a proclamation from God Himself, the Creator of the heavens and earth.
This may not be much of a practical answer to your afflictions, but I hope to encourage you that Jesus tells all who labor and are heavy-laden to come to Him for rest. The very heart of Christ is gentle and lowly, and He says that His yoke is easy and His burden is light.
But notice how He says for this rest to occur, we must first come to Him. In the midst of your afflictions, are you running towards Christ, begging Him for mercy and grace? Or are you perhaps running towards something else?
Let us all run to God, as a child would run to their parents when they are crying. Let us lift our eyes and our souls to the God of all comfort, who promises to comfort us in all our afflictions.
