Transforming at Sonrise

Dear Families,

In Art, students are reading The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. This story demonstrates the process of a caterpillar turning into a beautiful butterfly. As we read, students shouted, “The caterpillar needed to eat the leaf to grow!” Then, and only then, could the caterpillar build a cocoon for himself and transform into a new creature.

As we begin this spring season, I encourage us to reflect on the miracle of Christ’s resurrection from the dead. I pray that we will be able to experience the power of God’s Amazing Love demonstrated to us on the cross. Jesus said, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst” (John 6:35). Jesus Christ lived the life we could never live here on earth, died on the cross for our sins, and rose from the grave. Whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16).

My prayer for Sonrise students is that they hear the Words of God year after year, and grow in the Son. Then, and only then, can they become all God created them to be in Christ. Like a caterpillar turning into a beautiful butterfly, they can become more like their Creator and walk in newness of life. Will you join me in praying that children’s hearts remain hungry for God all the days of their lives? In the end, He is the One who can satisfy their souls now and for all of eternity.

Love,

Mrs. Blanchard
